We urge the larger WSSD conference however to match its words with deeds by agreeing implementable projects that have specific time frames if global humanity is to be spared any more suffering from the sins and planning lapses of its forebears.
The hungry of the world are getting angrier by the day. They see their desperate plight being inimically turned into a shopping and drinking jamboree by those with the means who do not see the urgency of narrowing the widening gap between the rich and the poor.
The world's very survival - its political, economic and social stability - cannot be guaranteed unless summits such as Johannesburg 2002 begin to purposefully address glaring economic and social injustices which breed revolt among the underprivileged.
