Consultations on Wealth Sharing in Sudan
The consultation team for sharing the wealth in the Sudanese peace negotiations started talks with officials in Khartoum in order to get acquainted with the government's position on this issue.
The Sudanese minister of energy and melting Awad Ahmad al-Jaz on Tuesday met with the consultation team and exchanged with its members view points and information concerning oil and mineral resources and means of privatizing them in the context of the Mashakos understanding and the current negotiations in Nairobi to define how to share the wealth.
The consultation team for IGAD's secretariat concerning this issue is headed by Steven Maurice, the director of the political and strategic studied center in Washington. The center which had prepared the famous paper on the American policy to end the war in Sudan.
While negotiations are being in Khartoum on the sharing and partitioning of wealth, IGAD had set the beginning of the direct negotiations tour between the Sudanese government and the people's movement in Mashakos, Kenya.
The Sudanese government had decided to strengthen its consultation negotiating delegation, and towards that end, the Sudanese minister of Justice Ali Othman Yassin was due to head for Nairobi on top of a delegation specialized in constitutional and legal issues in order to negotiate on the sharing of wealth, the authority and security arrangements.
