Whatever the U.S. decides to release will now be highly suspect and will virtually nullify the validity of the report. It will not, however, justify a war. The U.N. Security Council Resolution 1441 does not automatically justify war and requires further Security Council debate.
In its rush for power, the Bush Administration has nullified whatever claims it may make by seeking to censor the report.
Incidentally, the costs of the U.N. inspections is paid for Iraq, under the U.N.’s so-called “Oil-For-Food Programme”.
