Although each ICTY indictee is held individually responsible, the charges against Mrs. Plavsic arose out of incidents that occurred between July 1990 and December 1992, when she - along with Radovan Karadzic, Nicola Koljevic and Momcilo Krajisnik and “other participants in the joint criminal enterprise,” according to the Indictment - “planned, instigated, ordered, committed or otherwise aided and abetted the planning, preparation or execution of persecutions of the Bosnian Muslim, Bosnian Croat or other non-Serb populations…” of several municipalities in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
All those mentioned in the Indictment as being part of a “criminal enterprise” were members of the Assembly of Serbian People in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Mrs. Plavsic was indicted with Momcilo Krajisnik, President of the Assembly, and he remains in the U.N. Detention Centre in The Hague. He pleaded "Not Guilty" and awaits trial. The others are still at large.
A sentencing hearing date has been set for December 16 and 17, when Prosecution and Defense will present witnesses and evidence to assist the Trial Chamber in determining Mrs. Plavsic’s sentence. She is expected to appear in court, at that time.
The full Indictment, Statements and Plea Agreement can be seen on the website of the ICTY at: http://www.un.org/icty
