HOLY LAND OLIVE OIL
Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Palestine Helps Support Farmers and
Peace Activists
The Jewish-Palestinian Solidarity Committee of A Jewish Voice for Peace is
selling wine-sized bottles [750ml] of Palestinian olive oil. This year's
olive yield was bountiful, but Israeli closures, incur-sions, and arbitrary
restrictions have greatly hampered distri-bution of the oil, whose sale is
the sole income for many families. Your purchase is a statement of political
support at a critical time.
This oil is Extra-virgin and will be certified as organic. PARC (Palestinian
Agricultural Relief Committees), a nonprofit organization marketing
Palestinian farm products, pays the farmers, applies an overhead which
includes the cost of bottling (thus providing income to others), manages the
export procedures, and runs quality control lab checks. The bottles we're
selling are part of a shipment The Alliance for a Just Peace in the Middle
East has ordered from PARC for delivery to the Bay Area at the end of May.
We are asking $12 per bottle, but we strongly encourage you to increase your
contribution to $15 or more and buy extra bottles as gifts. Proceeds will go
to ISM, Ta'ayush, and U.S. OMEN.
ISM (International Solidarity Movement) is a Palestinian-led movement of
activists who use nonviolent, direct action to confront illegal Israeli
occupation forces and policies. Two of their international members have
recently been killed by the IDF and another seriously wounded.

Ta'ayush (Arabic for "living together") seeks to develop new forms of
Arab-Jewish non-violent action from below by organizing actions composed of
equal numbers of Israelis and Palestinians to aid villages in the Occupied

US OMEN (United States Organization for Medical & Educational Needs) is an
all-volunteer humanitarian organization chartered by the State of California
providing medical and educational aid for the sick and destitute in the
