This critical package of treaties holds promise to make the world a safer place for wildlife and people. WWF is urging governments to ratify the Stockholm POPs Convention and as many of the other treaties as possible.
Ratification by a sufficient number of countries before the late August 2002 WSSD would make possible the conventions' entry-into-force by the end of this year.
WWF invites everyone to visit the Global Chemicals Conventions site and make use of their Treaty Ratification Scorecard, Take Action Centre, and regularly-updated treaty information. The site was created to showcase progress by nations and regions in moving toward ratification of these four important conventions.
The web-page features an "updates" box containing current treaty ratification news and updates. Your help in providing news or information updates from your country or others would be greatly appreciated.
