Dirk Adriaensens: “The Ghosts of Abu Ghraib”

An important document of history rewriting has been released today. A documentary called “The Ghosts of Abu Ghraib”.

The Democrats are paving the avenue for the “Abu Ghraib apologists”, a new holocaust denial.

And the Kennedy’s serve as the mouthpiece to make Abu Ghraib acceptable for the US audience.

It’s a disgrace and a shame.

Why doesn’t Rory Kennedy make a similar documentary about the Warsaw ghetto in 1940-1944?

Replace Abu Ghraib with a Jewish Ghetto. Replace the US guards with German SS guards, and I’m damn sure that Rory Kennedy will be charged with crimes of “holocaust denial”.

Do you really think that the German guards in concentration camps or Jewish Ghetto’s were different from the US guards in Abu Graib or Guantanamo? Of course not.

The documentary starts with the obligatory 1961 Milgram experiment at Yale. That’s always a good starting point. “The relevance to Abu Ghraib is clear. If these average full-grown men in a safe university environment willingly overrode their own moral code because a man in a white coat told them to do so, what could be expected from a group of young, inexperienced, understaffed poorly-trained prison guards operating under extremely hostile conditions?”

“That's not to say the soldiers charged for the abuse should be absolved of wrongdoing, but it adds another layer of understanding to the public perception that those charged with Abu Ghraib crimes are morally-depraved sadists.”

You see where this is going? Understanding and absolution.

And it’s getting better: “Considering the widely accepted estimation that 70-85% of detainees at Abu Ghraib were innocent of any crime and that the torture scandal greatly harmed the US mission in Iraq, one would hope that the nuggets of reliable intelligence extracted from the minority of guilty saved enough American lives to justify the damages caused otherwise.”

So… maybe their acts have saved enough American lives??? What is this??? Kill ten Iraqis, torture 100 Iraqis, and that might save one American soldier’s life??? This is pure racism. And the assumption that this war is legitimate or legal in one way or another. American soldiers shouldn’t be over there and the Iraqi people have every right to fight them, according to international law. Period.

But wait…. It’s getting even better. Here’s the final sentence for you: “Restoring the average Iraqi's faith in the essential goodness of American intent in their country requires a more aggressive--and very public--examination of how the abuse came about. Rory Kennedy's valuable contribution to this debate represents an early step in what will be a very long, but immensely worthwhile, process.”

Can you believe that? Can you really believe that? This is worse than the neocons’ PNAC, because it’s telling us the same, but in more “human” words. “Essential goodness of American intent in their (Iraqi) country”

I don’t know if I should laugh or cry. This is so shameful, so incredibly shameful, after the loss of one million Iraqi lives and more than 3 million refugees, and the country totally ruined. All this caused by the US policy makers and their occupying forces. ESSENTIAL GOODNESS OF AMERICAN INTENT ?!? These are the new “Democratic” policymakers for you.

I lost every hope that these American policy makers, be it Republicans or Democrats, can change one inch. Their mentality is colonial, their policy is colonial, their culture is colonial. Everything I read breaths colonialism.

We totally rely on the struggle of the Iraqi resistance, more than ever, to restore world peace, with the help of the US peace movement, if they are able to stay independent from the Republican and Democrat scum.

In shame and horror.
