World peace concert in Hanoi, June 22nd
The second annual World Peace Music Awards and concert will be held in Hanoi on June 22nd. Among those participating are Gloria Gaynor, Sarah Brightman, Peter Yarrow (of Peter, Paul & Mary), Harry Belafonte, Lionel Ritchie and Bob Dylan.According to the organizers:
"It has been 30 years since the end of the Vietnam War. The memories of the horrors of that incident still remain deep inside the hearts of many people who were affected by the war. To this day there are still people who continue to suffer in fear and sadness. It is time for us to return the attention of the world back to Vietnam. Not in hatred or sympathy, but to join the hands of the Vietnamese people with those of the world in an action of peace, love, and unification."
