Two recent developments are reason for concern: first, the change in the U.S. position to an outright obstruction of the Kyoto Protocol and, second, the worsening of relations between developing countries and the European Union - the former "Green Group". New Delhi might thus serve as a warning shot that should lead to some renewed thinking in the capitals of Europe and the South.
