U.S. Bombs Iraqi Site, Accuses Baghdad of 'Material Breach' of Resolution

UNew York: U.S. forces command headquarters in Europe, stationed in Germany announced on Monday night that an Iraqi air defense site in Mousel was attacked and totally demolished on Monday.

The U.S. Army communique on the incident reiterates that for the second consecutive day, the U.S. and British warplanes, flying over the northern no-fly-zone of Iraq were targeted by Iraqi air defense which led to the allied forces return fire, using precision laser fire.

"The Iraqi air defense site was fully demolished during the response fire to Iraq's intriguing act," says the communique.

The U.S. fighters also dropped 120,000 propaganda notices over Orumissa city in the South of Iraq, in which the Iraqi military forces are encouraged to end aiming at U.S. and British planes.

U.S. media said that the notices dropped over the Iraqi city on Monday read in part, "Beware! Do not aim at US and British planes and do not trace them on your radars. The total demolishing witnessed by your colleagues in other air defense sites was the answer to the continuous attacks against coalition planes."
