From child soldier to entrepreneur
Potentially one of the richest countries in Africa, the Democratic Republic of Congo is currently one of the poorest. Eighty per cent of the population live on less than a dollar a day. Today, the majority of Congolese just want to see their country back on its feet. This is the story of one of them, a former child soldier, and his friends who successfully started a business with support from the ILO's International Programme on the Elimination of Child Labour (IPEC).
