Beit Hanoun Losses at $17m Due to Israeli Invasion, notes Yousef Alhelou

Article image Mayor of the beleaguered city of Beit Hanoun in the northern Gaza Strip, Dr. Mohammed Al-Kafaraneh estimated the losses in his city within eight days of full-scale IOF troops' invasion at 17 million U.S. dollars.
Kafarneh's remarks came in a press conference he held in the city hall in the presence of Dr. Mohammed Awad, the secretary-general of the PA council of ministers, PA health minister Dr. Basim Na'eem, and PA refugees' affairs' minister Dr. Atef Odwan among other PA officials.

In details, Kafarneh puts losses in the water network at $350,000, sewerage system at $450,000, road network at $3.5 million, destroyed houses at $2.5 million, electricity network at $500,000, and losses in the communication network at $1.5 million, among others.
He further revealed that his municipal council formed a legal committee to follow up the catastrophic situation in the city, explaining, "Volume of the destruction is very big and needs intensified efforts to repair it within six months."

For the IOF crime in Beit Hanun not to be forgotten, Kafarneh urged all legal and human rights institutions to document the IOF troops' murder and destruction crimes in his city.
