A Real Solution to the Conflict in the Middle East, by Fr. Labib Kobti

A fair, full and lasting solution to the Middle East problems will occur when the International Community and especially the U.S. will oblige Israel to respect fully the U.N. resolutions 242, 194, that the "Bush Road Map" mentioned, at a certain time - when Israel gives back the whole of the 1967 Occupied territories and Palestine will have its own independent country and Independent Capital in Jerusalem.

OCCUPATION IS THE MAIN PROBLEM. INJUSTICE TOWARD THE PEOPLE OF THE MIDDLE EAST IS THE PROBLEM,

And when Israel will return the Lebanese Occupied Territories and the Golan Syrian Occupied Territories,

Then, I think that Hizbullah would have no reason to exist, and Hamas will have no reason to fight and if they would continue to do anything violent, then the whole international Community should destroy them, completely. They cannot do it now, as they are resisting an occupation and the injustices toward them. The use of violence by Israel and the U.S. green light for that is not and will not be the solution.

We have tried this in the past; violence will nourish violence.

In 1982, Israel destroyed Fatah and sent them out of Lebanon. But in 1982 Hizbullah, because of Israeli violence and the destruction of the Lebanese infrastructure and the occupation of Lebanon, was created. Violence had created the Almujahidin in Afghanistan and then, when we wanted them wiped out, we created Taliban and then Al Qaida was created; the same thing in Iraq and in Somalia. The English had the same experience in India, Pakistan, Africa; the French in Algeria; we Americans had it in Vietnam.

Israel has it now for over six decades in Palestine. Violence will never resolve the problem. Violence will create more radical groups, governments, hate and terrorism. When will we be able to understand that History is the best teacher of how we should deal with the present and build the future?

The actual violence in Lebanon will never resolve the problem. It will create more radical groups and governments; it is creating more hate and more terrorism. It will cause some governments and groups to get more restricted weapons to fight the injustices, tomorrow. And what is taken with violence, as Jesus Christ said, will be given back with violence. Do we want that?

I urge my country the U.S. to stand for the future of new generations of love and sharing, of peace and justice.

I urge that the U.S. work as a country to build a better future for the world, based on justice, peace and truth and not on violence.

We need to stop Samson who destroyed himself, so as to destroy his enemies, to continue to nourish the minds who want violence.

Friends of Israel: How you can help Israel to live and survive?

Only peace and justice can help Israel to live and survive.

Only if Israel and the USA work for real justice and real peace in the Middle East region will we help Israel to live and survive.

In giving a blind eye on the injustices, you are not helping Israel. History tells you that with violence you cannot accomplish anything. I am sure your conscience is telling you that TRUTH, already.

The USA and the world are working instead for violence and war; they are not helping Israel; they cannot be GOOD FRIENDS to Israel, as well.

The veto will not help. On the contrary, it is feeding with violence the SOUL, the SPIRIT and the WILL of those people who want to survive and live like any people in the world with the same rights and responsibilities.

In working against JUSTICE in the Middle East you are nourishing the souls and spirits of people with anger and violence and hate; we are creating more terrorists than ever.

You are creating thousands and thousand of SAMSONS; you are creating a new MASADA.

The best way is to help Israel to make Justice. U.S. money and weapons will not help the future of a people who have already suffered from violence, a people who had paid with blood for their existence. Enough is enough using the Israeli and Palestinian people; enough using the Jews, the Christians and the Muslims of the region for economic and political gains.

ONLY JUSTICE is the Solution. Work seriously to implement in full, starting with the U.N. Resolutions 242, 194 and many other U.N. resolutions and stop vetoing U.N. resolutions for the sake of one party, that you are killing and destroying. What did we do to Israel since its creation other than nourishing violence and killing? WE NEED TO STOP ALL THAT.

This is the only solution for violence and the way that can build the future of the Israelis and the Palestinians, the Lebanese, the Syrians, the Iraqis and the whole Middle East.
The U.S. should start to respect itself as a rightful broker for justice and truth and not by backing the violence of Israel, but by standing with the International Community for what is just, fair and right for the Middle East.

Let us be honest. What are the U.S. and Israel gaining with the destruction of the infrastructure of the Palestinian and Lebanese cities, water, electricity, bridges, food, medicine and the many killings? They are only getting more killings and violence, more hate and more resistance and terrorism.

Is this the real and the right solution?

History tells us by experience that it did not work in many parts of the world. Will it work now and after over six decades of violence in the Middle East? Honestly, I do not think so! And honestly, you all who read my article will agree with me.

Then stop violence and go back to what is the real SOLUTION of all PROBLEMS. Let our children sing a song of peace, prosperity and life.
