An Appeals Chamber of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) has upheld the convictions of three Bosnian Serbs for war crimes committed in the Foca prison camp, in Eastern Bosnia, during the Bosnian War.
In a war which lacked any semblance of Honor, the Bosnian Serb Prison Camp in Foca stilll manages to stand out for its total disregard of human decency. Known as “the rape camp”, it had officially been a Bosnian Serb detention center for women and girls.
Three Bosnian Serb “men” turned the Foca Prison Camp into their own personal brothel, raping Bosnian women prisoners and pimping their victims to other Bosnian Serb clients. One of the victims was a 12 year-old girl.
In February, Dragoljub Kunarac, was sentenced to 28 years in prison. Radomir Kovac received a 20 year sentence and Zoran Vukovic 12 years. The Appeals Chamber upheld the convictions and sentences.
