Secretary-General Kofi Annan today announced the appointment of Mark Malloch Brown, his current Chef de Cabinet, as Deputy Secretary-General. Mr. Malloch Brown will assume his new functions upon the departure of the Deputy Secretary-General, Louise Fréchette.
