Aspects of Russian-Chechen War - The Kavkaz Center

2004-07-15

Western media named the Russian-Chechen war “the forgotten war”, so that it could probably be easier for the respectable Europeans to claim to have nothing to do with it.

The second Russian-Chechen war, which has been going on for almost five years, is being viewed differently (depending on predilections of an interested observer). For a Russian ordinary citizen, for example, who was rudely humiliated and brought down to his knees by his own government, the Russian-Chechen war is a generous source of constant animal fear, which is associated with Chechen Mujahideen and which is based on the permanent threat of the so-called “terrorist attacks”.
