U.S. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES PASSES BILL IN EXPEDITED VOTE DESPITE NCAI RESOLUTION AND WESTERN SHOSHONE OPPOSITION In a behind the scenes, completely un-democratic and purely political maneuver, the Western Shoshone Distribution Bill (S 618/HR 884) was passed by a voice vote several hours before the scheduled vote on Monday, June 21, 2004. Because of the death of the Senate bill on June 1, the next step will be for the vote to move back through the Senate and then on to the President.
