The United Nations has just concluded a two-day conference wherein donor countries pledged $8.2 billion for re-development of Afghanistan. Of course, pledges are promises until they are delivered and the situation in Afghanistn continues to worsen, every day.
Meanwhile, the U.N. Office on Drugs and Crime has called for “more resources to counteract the growing drug problem in Afghanistan”.
As yet, there is not a practical solution to the international problem of drug abuse.
