The 2003 Reporters Without Borders - Fondation de France Prize was awarded to Moroccan journalist Ali Lmrabet, the Zimbabwean independent newspaper, The Daily News , and Michèle Montas, the former director of the Haitian radio station Radio Haïti Inter, at a ceremony held at the Espace EDF Electra in Paris on 10 December. The Reporters Without Borders - Fondation de France Prize for 2003 is awarded to:
A journalist who, through their professional work, stance or attitude best demonstrates their commitment to freedom of information.
A media that best exemplifies the struggle for the freedom of expression and the right to be informed.
A defender of press freedom.
