There was a time – even in the so-called “developed” West – when people bought only the things they needed, plus the occasional luxury item, as a gift or “treat”. Now, however, Consumerism is considered the norm and not a psychosis. Of course, a major percentage of the human population does not have this problem, since they can barely afford to survive.
The Culture Jammers Network is calling upon everyone who is infected with the disease of Consumerism to resist the indoctrinated urge – for 24 hours - and buy nothing!
They are not asking for a complete return to normalcy, merely a one day resistance to the addiction.

If you are reading this when it is already too late to observe
Buy Nothing Day,
then try it tomorrow – or possibly next week and maybe, in the weeks to come, set aside your own
Buy Nothing Days.
Who knows, maybe there’s a possibility we may all get off the treadmill ?
