Israeli and Palestinian Peace activists, amongst them Uri Avnery of Gush Shalom, visited Yasser Arafat in his Mukata'a compound in order to protest against the government decision to remove Arafat. "We shall come and provide a human shield whenever needed," Uri Avnery told Arafat.
Abu Ala, the designated Prime Minister, took part in the meeting.
